At Spark & Grow, we know childhood is a treasured time. We believe it is our responsibility to provide environments and experiences that capture the joys of childhood, nurture each child’s individual growth and development, and pave the way for success in school and life.
Our Approach
to learning
Our curriculum is built on the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and shaped by the Characteristics of Effective Learning (CoEL), three simple ideas about how children actually learn, not just what they learn.
Playing and Exploring
Children investigate, experience things, and have a go. We create the conditions for children to explore freely, take safe risks
and follow their curiosity : without pressure to arrive at a “right” answer.
Active Learning
Children concentrate, keep trying and enjoy their achievements. We protect long, uninterrupted stretches of play, and we
celebrate effort rather than outcome. When a child spends twenty minutes on a puzzle, we don't interrupt it, we protect it.
Creating and Thinking
Children have their own ideas, make links and choose their own strategies. Our educators ask “What do you think?” and
“How did you decide?” far more often than “Is that right?”
